I thought I'd post one of my favorite images from one of my favorite ships from Star Citizen; the Origin 350R. It's basically a BMW M5 space ship. It's some high-quality fictional engine porn, that's for sure.
What's great, is that this is all done in-engine, using a technique called Physics Based Rendering, or PBR, if you'r an alcoholic.

That's neat.
Now who do I need to blow to make this a reality?

Well I'd say NASA, but I don't think they have the funding to build this.
So...Bill Gates?

Don't say NASA. Diesel will take it seriously (he works at NASA).
Bill Gates it is!!

These are in-game graphics?

Technically there's nowhere in the current Hangar Module where you can get that exact location (blank background, foreground, etc), but yes, this is done in-engine. This isn't a specific rendering.

Is this being run on a liquid cooled 4-card rig, lol

Probably at least a dual-card.
None of the alpha footage looks like this good yet because PBR hasn't dropped yet and of course it's still in Alpha. But even without the PBR enhancements in the Hangar Module, the graphics are pretty ridiculous.

Oh it's in alpha still. In that case, dual 8gb cards lol
